About Us

Linn Legal is a law firm focused on helping business owners and families to grow and thrive by providing smart and clever legal work, on time and on budget. The firm’s driving focus is on transactional work, situations where two people want to make a deal. The firm does not litigate or file lawsuits because we excel at our transactional work and aim to keep you out of a courtroom. The firm is headed by Douglas Linn, a veteran attorney with a skill for math and business administration. Douglas Linn

Partner

Practice Areas Include: Commercial Real Estate, Mergers & Acquisitions, Business Law, Wills & Trusts Licensed in Ohio Douglas Linn brings a talent for managing large transactions to the firm. He has practiced transactional business law for over a decade and understands the flow of a deal, from a term sheet through to maintaining a closing date. He is good at math (for a lawyer, at least). Many transactions also include commercial real estate, succession planning, and wills & trusts, and Douglas guides clients through those related matters with a whole-picture approach. He graduated from Miami University in 2007 with degrees in History and Philosophy, with a focus on formal logic. He earned his law degree from Indiana University in 2010 and has been practicing since then. He maintains the transactional practice at Linn Legal. Douglas is the chair of the Probate and Estate Legal Association of Cincinnati. He lives with his wife and daughter in the Cincinnati neighborhood of Kennedy Heights, where he served in the past as president of the Community Council. In his spare time, he enjoys growing roses and herbs in his greenhouse and garden. He supports and fundraises for Kindervelt, Cincinnati Children's Hospital, Hayden & Crew, and the Kennedy Heights Montessori Center.

Kayla Settles

Kayla serves as the Operations Admin for Linn Legal. Originally from the Dayton area, she graduated from Miami University with a bachelors in Psychology. Outside of work, she enjoys drawing and painting, working out and spending time with friends. She loves helping clients work through things they’ve been “putting off” for a while and bringing them relief that comes from turning “someday” into “now."
